Bud Ehrle

Calcite discovered by Bud Ehrle for sale

The late Bud Ehrle unearthed these spectacular pieces in the early 1970’s from a remote location not known for fine mineral specimens. This private collection has been in storage since its discovery and never peviously available for sale. Since then, it has been highly coveted.

Striking rust-red calcite fingers are formed inside calcareous concretions within shale. Exceptional specimens may display embedded fossils or barite.
